“Civil marriage is at once a deeply personal commitment to another human being and a highly public celebration of the ideals of mutuality, companionship, intimacy, fidelity, and family…. Because it fulfills yearnings for security, safe haven, and connection that express our common humanity, civil marriage is an esteemed institution, and the decision whether and whom to marry is among life’s momentous acts of self-definition.”
Mary and Justin used these lines from the surprisingly beautiful Massachusetts Supreme court decision, Goodridge v. Department of Public Health, in their wedding ceremony; I feel like they so perfectly sum up everything that is beautiful and profound about marriage.
Mary and Justin’s wedding was filled with friends and family from across the country celebrating their decision to spend their lives together. More importantly it was filled with joy and love. Here are some of my favorite photos from their wedding at Artwork Network in Denver’s Santa Fe Art District.
