Engagement Sessions 2010 {Colorado Wedding Photographer}

I love photographing engagement sessions. They’re an amazing way to accomplish lots of things at once: First of all, it’s a nice way to get acquainted with people I’m going to be following around for 8+ hours. Secondly, it’s a great way for people who aren’t used to being the constant subject of photographs (ie, almost everyone) to get used to being in front of the camera. But more than anything, it’s a fabulous time to take incredible photographs that really capture a couple and their connection.

Most of the time, the amount of time at a wedding set aside for photography of just the couple is going to range from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. Don’t get me wrong – I can take some seriously beautiful photographs in that short time period – even five minutes – but having the flexibility to walk around and look for interesting locations and magical light helps produce some killer portraits.  You can also really choose a location that reflects you. You can choose locations based on first dates, places you love to go – anything is possible!

Here are some of my favorite engagement photographs from my 2010 engagement sessions – thank you to all of these couples for planning such beautiful portraits with me!colorado wedding photographer30
